The “Beyond Academics” initiative is designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry by equipping engineering graduates and IT professionals with hands-on skills in emerging technologies such as AI, Cybersecurity, Blockchain, and IoT, by partnering with the specialized training agencies known as SAHAYAKs ("Specialized Agencies for Honing Abilities beYond Academic Knowledge"), and leveraging the infrastructure of STPI’s 68 centres, particularly in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.
Objective
The initiative aims to strengthen the technology ecosystem comprising of IT industry & startups by developing a skilled talent pool. This initiative aims at upskilling 20,000–25,000 young professions/students by 2030, starting with target of training 1,000–1,200 young professions/students in 2026.
